Historic Repair & Structural Restoration Project
Walter Reuther Central High School is part of the Kenosha Civic Center National Historic District, with exterior walls of Bedford (Indiana) Limestone (1925 John Chubb Architect).

ICA was the Architect for the restoration of the High School. ICA carried the process from the initial condition assessments and failure analysis to the completion of the restoration project. ICA performed a partial Historic Structure Report and developed the bidding documents for all phases of the building preservation process. Extensive restoration included deconstruction and reconstruction of top 15’ of an entire city block to correct structural deficiencies. All the work was completed in strict accordance with the Secretary of Interiors standards for the treatment of Historic Properties. From 2009 to 2011, ICA performed an Historic Structure Report and developed the bidding documents for all phases of the building preservation process, and provided full time observation of all restoration and preservation activities.
